Today is Day 2 of the 4th annual Book Blogger Appreciation Week. I remember when the first one began in 2008, only 9 months after I first started blogging. Now look at it. Its grown up into a highly anticipated aspect of the blogging community. I’m proud to have seen many of the blogs nominated grow and change over time. Many of the bloggers rightfully deserve these awards for all the time and effort they have put not only into their own blogs, but into the community as a whole.

The Book Blogger Appreciate Week was originally started by My Friend Amy as a way to support, encourage and promote the emergence of book blogs.
The 3rd Annual Book Blogger Appreciation Week registration form is now up and running! I haven’t registered yet, but I did scan through the process and it is lengthy! Right off the bat, you are asked to place your blog in a niche, in place of voters placing you in whatever niche they deemed appropriate. You are also asked to give detailed information about various new books for all ages and genres (including ISBNs, author names, titles, etc). Also 5 fives that you want to be considered for the BBAW if you want to be in the running for one of the awards.
The deadline to submit your entries is July 7th, and the actual awards week will be held in September, the 13th to the 17th.
Make sure you check out the official website for more information as well as following BBAW on Twitter for regular update and announcements.
If you haven’t already checked it out, the shortlist nominations for this year’s BBAW have been posted. Make sure you stop by and get your vote in by Saturday Sept 12th @ 11:59pm.
Don’t forget to send in your Bookworms Carnival submissions for the 37th edition, featuring Banned Books Week. Submissions are due by Friday Sept 11th @ 11:59pm. You can e-mail me your posts.
Also, don’t forget to sign up for the Its My Birthday, Book Giveaway contest being held all this month. The first winner will be selected this Wednesday, Sept 9th. + ,
