Literary Locales

One of my absolute favorite PBS mini-series is Anne of Green Gables. Every year I sequester myself for a weekend, and watch the entire DVD set start to finish. This year, I’ve decided that its high time I actually sit down to read the books that the series is based on.

This had me thinking about visiting Prince Edward Island to see Green Gables in person. Then this thought led to the other literary locales I’d like to visit before I kick the bucket.

  1. Awesome post! I did get to see Dylan Thomas’ house in Wales which was pretty cool. I’ve ALWAYS wanted to go to Prince Edward Island because of Anne of Green Gables.

  2. I have been to PEI to see Anne’s house! I was like 10. I want to go back, but PEI is so commercialized that everything costs an arm and a leg…

    • I’m very jealous you got to visit PEI, but I’m also very sad its so commercialized. I had hoped it would stay in the little bubble of perfection that Lucy Montgomery always described. It sort of hampers my want to visit now.
