Well, July has been a busy busy month for me. I managed to read 13 books, join 3 challenges as well as start some weekly memes.
Books I read this month:
Motorcycle Diaries – Che Guevara
Rabies Mom – Pat Carroll & Jack McGowan
The Freedom Writer’s Diary – Erin Gruwell
A Spot of Bother – Mark Haddon
The Art of Racing In The Rain – Garth Stein
Autobiography of a Face – Lucy Grealy
The Seamstress – Frances de Ponte Peebles
A Confederacy of Dunes – John Kennedy Toole
The Idiot Girls’ Action Adventure Club – Laurie Notaro
Post Office – Charles Bukowski
My top pick for the month is a tie between A Confederacy of Dunes by John Kennedy Toole and The Art of Racing In The Rain by Garth Stein. Both books were amazing, insightful and a great joy to read.
Challenges I joined this month:
July Book Blowout. I did meet my goal and read 13 books!
Classics Challenge. I actually didn’t read any classics this month, although I did reread the first page of Sister Carrie about three times before moving on to another book.
Graphic Novel Challenge. I read Rex Libris by James Turner this month.
Weekly Memes I started/joined this month:
Weekly Geek, hosted by Deweymonster.
Friday Finds, a wonderful idea by MizB
and I started my own weekly thread of posting weekly book releases every Sunday/Monday.
And, as always, thank you to everyone who reads my blog! I appreciate your comments and interest in my ramblings. =) I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
