I keep hearing about Confederacy of Dunces but haven’t sought it out yet. What let you to but it on your TBR? What about what you’ve heard about it draws you to it?

I didn’t like Autobiography of a Face at all, because I found the writing to be really amateur and therefore distracting. I’m wondering what you think of it, so I look forward to your review!

I haven’t read any of those books, but I vote for A Confederacy of Dunces, because it’s on my wishlist.

I’d reader either Krauss or Toole next…I read both and loved both, although I know some people who loathed them. I think I preferred Toole to Krauss, but not everyone would agree with me, I know.

I’m eager to hear about the Houdini biography. Do the authors go into his background in depth? Is there much focus on his personal life, or do they concentrate most of the book on the showman and his astounding feats? Do they detail how Houdini pulled off these stunts? Obviously, I noticed that there are 2 authors…do either of them have a background in magic that they’ve brought to the table?

I have “Confederacy Of Dunces” and Jasper Fforde’s books on my list of upcoming reads.

My question to you is why did you choose to add these two books to your to be read pile (reviews, recommendation, cover, etc)?
