I've seen this book a lot but couldn't pick it up yet - kinda busy with the other books.

You have great reviews, I'm glad to have added you in my blogroll. Thanks for adding me as well.

Huh, I'll have to pick up her book. She did not get a very favorable review from John Berendt in City of Falling Angels, I can tell you that much. I'm really interested to see what she has to say in her stories.

No problem on the blogroll! I really like your reviews. Very short and too the point.

What a timely (and helpful) post for summer travelers! Do you know about Jane Turner Rylands's "Venetian Stories" http://italian-mysteries.com/JTR01.html? It's a lovely book of 12 short stories about Venice -- light but literary fiction.

I love "Death in Venice" (and most of Henry James, including his many letters from Italy). So for me Rylands is not a substitute for them but an author for a different mood.

Many thanks for the blogroll listing!
