I have more or less given up on control. My only control is that I am no longer (theoretically) going to Borders, Barnes and Nobles, or Amazon. I'm only acquiring from Half Price Books, library book sales, and BookMooch (exceptions made for book club books).

The nice thing about library book sales is that they are limited by the amount of cash I have. I picked up about 10 books for myself, plus four for a friend's new baby, for under 10 bucks at a book sale on Saturday!
