I have come across this site before. I think this is the one I was looking for when I came across Bookswim. Its to easy to mix them up with names so similar.

BookSwim is an AWESOME concept and might work well for the EAST coast. Although the first set of books come Priority Mail - the subsequent shipments come in book-rate bags... AND TAKE FOREVER. I was also disappointed that the promised library is a VIRTUAL one -- you choose books from their website and are then asked to go find another one because they don't actually HAVE the one you selected. I had an entire list of 5 books that were all on the Bookswim website, but not yet available. I was disappointed that I had recommended the site to so many people before I got in the midst of the order/delivery mess.

I'm sure they're in midst of some growing pains right now. I see their biggest competitor as the Kindle. By the time Bookswim gets their act together, I'll probably have one of those!

Misterbooks,

You have the option of being able to buy the book, so if there is one you can't part with...well, you won't have to!

This is a book fiend's best friend/worst enemy all rolled into one cheap package.

Hey now!
Which school is this? I am one of the founders and you must be referring either to Rutgers or NJIT. I think you should sign up because it is a fantastic service (I guess that's not an entirely UNBIASED opinion, however).

I also recently started my own blog and BookSwim was my first review: http://www.andstartup.com/2008/04/18/bookswim/

I think there is a bulk book rate postage, maybe...I think. Sounds good, but I have a book addiction and just love 'em. I baby them so much, I don't know if I could ship off a favourite book to some unknown bibliophile. Just being goofy, cause I'm so tired....
Peace,
